After spending 18 years in youth and family ministry, Jeremy Pate joined AP as our Youth Publications Coordinator—a role he has flourished in for the past seven years. Jeremy is one of the most hard-working, creative Christians you will ever meet, capable of everything from writing a book to illustrating it, and from preparing and preaching a great sermon to turning a tedious list of 40 AP camp rules into a memorable rhyme that campers are on the edge of their seats to hear—and perhaps never forget.
Jeremy received his B.A. degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from Middle Tennessee State University in 1997. In 2001, he received his Master’s in Ministry from Freed-Hardeman University. In addition to his work at AP, Jeremy also serves as one of the preaching ministers at the Dalraida church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama, where he also serves as one of the deacons for the College Ministry.
Jeremy is the imaginative mind behind all five of AP’s biblically sound, creative VBS curricula. He has dedicated years of his life to delivering high-quality work on some of the best VBS lessons, artwork, PowerPoints, etc., that you will find anywhere. Flood, Fearless, Operation: Creation, Truth Hunters, and The Name of Jesus have been used effectively (and to the glory of God!) by numerous congregations around the world.
In 2024, Jeremy became the associate editor of AP’s monthly children’s magazine, Discovery: Scripture and Science for Kids. He also created AP’s first-ever Bible board game titled Truth Hunters, which can accompany the Truth Hunters VBS or serve as a family-fun, stand-alone Bible trivia game.
Jeremy recently completed two projects: AP’s new Discovery Bible Cards (advertised in this month’s R&R, and which you do not want to miss out on!), as well as a beautiful, 400-page family devotional book, titled Discovering True Character, which should be available in the next couple of months. Jeremy is currently working on a few new projects, including helping lead a team effort to create a six-year, 312-lesson Bible curriculum for teens (7th-12th graders), which we expect to release in late 2027 or early 2028.
Finally, if you ever come through Montgomery, Alabama, stop by AP and see us. And be sure to visit Jeremy’s office—hands down the most kid-friendly, delightfully chaotic office at AP. You won’t regret it.
