Jelly Roll has never shied away from sharing his difficult journey with addiction, incarceration and restoration. Now, the country-rap star is turning that story into something tangible: a 100-acre rehabilitation and mental health campus on his property in Tennessee.
The facility, which will be completely free, will provide wraparound programs for addiction recovery, mental health treatment and holistic wellness. It’s a deeply personal project for Jelly Roll, who’s been open about his own struggles with drug use and the system that often fails people like him. His goal is to remove barriers to treatment and rebuild community through compassion and connection.
“Imagine drug addicts like you and like us, poor kids, like we’re just down, when life was kicking our a**,” he said. “And now think about the resources that we have that could have helped us so much in those moments.”
The campus will combine traditional 12-step recovery with experiential activities such as motivational weekends, therapy sessions and even mudding — all meant to foster belonging and resilience.
“You’ll have a traditional 28-day, 12-step style, but then we’ll have intensive programs as well for therapy and mental health,” he said.
Big Mike, a longtime friend and fellow recovery advocate, said the idea reflects Jelly Roll’s commitment to the people who raised him.
“He’s truly dedicated to helping the community that helped him survive,” Mike said.
For Jelly Roll, this project is more than just lending a hand to those in need. It’s closing a chapter of his life by creating space for a new legacy.
“I think about the resources that could have helped us back then,” he said. “Now we can finally build them.”
