Answering Atheism

Point-by-Point Refutations of Claims from Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris, and Other "New Atheists"

Six Core Claims Refuted

Claim 1: "Religion Is the Root of All Evil"

Atheistic regimes (Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot) killed more in the 20th century than all religious wars combined. The claim conflates religion with human corruption.

Claim 2: "There's No Evidence for God"

Cosmological, teleological, moral, historical, and experiential evidence exists across multiple categories. The claim ignores the evidence rather than refuting it.

Claim 3: "Faith Is Belief Without Evidence"

Biblical faith (pistis) means trust based on evidence — not blind belief. Hebrews 11:1 describes confident assurance, not wishful thinking.

Claim 4: "Religion Is a Delusion"

This commits a circular reasoning fallacy — assuming God doesn't exist to prove God doesn't exist. The argument presupposes its conclusion.

Claim 5: "Science Has Disproven God"

Science studies the natural world through methodological naturalism. It cannot prove or disprove the existence of a being outside nature by definition.

Claim 6: "The Bible Is Full of Contradictions"

Alleged contradictions typically involve context, genre, or translation issues. Manuscript analysis shows extraordinary preservation and consistency.
